SeamlessHR, a Nigerian tech startup, has opened offices in Kenya and selected Nairobi as its East African hub.

By implementing expertly-designed, cutting-edge technology solutions, SeamlessHR is an end-to-end HR and payroll technology company that is committed to aiding companies in emerging markets in increasing their productivity.

Emmanuel Okeleji, co-founder and CEO of SeamlessHR, said during the launch that the Kenya office will serve the entire East African region, with a focus on Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Ethiopia.

After raising $10 million in Series A funding for its upcoming stage of growth and regional expansion, the company made the decision. The business claims that the funding has improved its standing as “Africa’s leading cloud HR and payroll platform” and that it is now putting its plans for the East African regional markets into action.

“Kenya is very technologically advanced and is outperforming its peers, and we want to take advantage of that. We are expanding because there is a significant need for business automation on the continent. In the first quarter of 2023, we will open an office in South Africa, which will be our next stop, according to Okeleji.

Despite the demand, Okeleji notes that despite the global shift toward digitization, Kenyan businesses still manage the majority of HR practices manually.

Traditional manual payroll processing has a high margin for error, which raises stress levels and lowers morale among workers. These mistakes have been made, particularly in payroll due to the tedious tasks involved in manually entering payroll data. Your business will greatly benefit from the accuracy of automated processes, which can be up to 99.9%, he added.

According to the most recent report by Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), Kenya’s 7.4 million SMEs struggle to manage their human resources.

Seun Obatuye, Chief Operations Officer at SeamlessHR, stated, “We are excited that we are beating global players in our local market and continue to position SeamlessHR as a global SaaS company. SeamlessHR is set to address the needs of Kenyan enterprises in ways that global players cannot because of its unique customer-centric SaaS design approach. We are building software solutions to optimize HR now; in the future, we will grow to offer other business solutions beyond HR.

SeamlessHR began serving clients in Kenya in 2021, establishing itself as a top-tier service provider in the East African economic capital, with product suites including an HR management system, performance and competency management, HR analytics, leave management, payroll management, and recruitment management.
