Talk To God Like The Best Friend That He Is

A reminder for those restless moments on the weekends:
The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” – Exodus 33:14

At work, you can be on pins and needles at times, constantly trying to get everything done and do what you need to do just so you’ll make it through.

At school, you can try so hard to juggle all of the classes, projects, and social activities coming your way to the point that the days and nights start running together, and there seems to be less time to get everything done with each semester that passes.

At church, you can come to worship but at times get distracted by who’s talking to who, who’s wearing what, who’s at which service, what songs the worship team is singing, or become so busy being involved in serving that you forget to slow down, tune the world out, and worship Him.

At home, you can be so eager to relax that instead of spending time with the Lord, you go straight to catch up on TV shows or catch up with friends.

With friends, you can become so eager to be in their company that you don’t even realize you’ve started to compare yourself to them and what they’re doing with their lives.

With family, you can at times put your guard up because you never know what they’re going to say or how they’re going to react to certain things.

But with God…in His presence…you can put every guard down. You can put aside every distraction. You can simply sit, and read His Word and talk to Him like the best friend that He is. You can write down your thoughts. You can worship His holy name in song and in prayer. You can take a deep breath and allow yourself to unwind in His presence. You don’t have to be so held together here because in the name of Jesus, He is the One that holds you together, and He will give you the rest and peace you need.
