635 Graduands drawn from Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda conferred with degrees during the 4th edition of the graduation ceremony of The East African University(TEAU). The graduands were mainly from schools of business, education and computer science.
Communications Secretary and CEO National Communications Secretariat Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs Eng. Daniel Obam called on the east Africa region to be drivers of social, technological, economic development through knowledge generation and Innovation.
“There is a need to push the boundaries of knowledge and discovery to transform the lives of those around us,” said Eng. Obam, who was the Chief Guest at the occasion.
The Chancellor of the University Prof George Mondo Kagonyera lauded the graduands on their achievements and challenged them to impact their spheres of influence positively.
“Innovation and creativity are vital aspects for our community, lets us strive to combat the current challenges towards the improvement of quality lives.
The East African University is affiliated to various International Universities, including; Hochschule Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, Alpine University, American University of Health, Cairo, Egypt and has collaborated with other institutions of higher learning in Kenya.
Ambassador Al-Haj Professor Badru D. Kateregga, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The East African University, also serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Kampala University.
