Local and International Investors to meet in Naivasha for Smart Cities Conference

Over 500 experts from private and private sectors will converge in Naivasha next month to deliberate on the introduction of Smart Cities in Africa. The two-day conference is organized by the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) which will begin on October 24 2019 and end on October 25 2019.

Over 500 experts from private and private sectors will converge in Naivasha next month to deliberate on the introduction of Smart Cities in Africa.

The two-day conference is organized by the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) which will begin on October 24 2019 and end on October 25 2019.

The event will bring together local and international investors, industry players in the real estate sector, county and national government officials and donors among others.

Key speakers include urban developer Zhou Yimin who will share expertise on development of smart cities and funding.

Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts Jonah Aiyabei said the event will also address some of the challenges experienced while doing business in both the public and private sector.

“The conference will also identify ways of enhancing economic competitiveness of Africa through functional cities, identify opportunities for partnership between governments and businesses in driving smart cities investments, and encourage a proactive approach in shaping smart cities policies and investments in Africa,” Aiyabei said.

Other key presenters expected during the conference include the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing Urban Development and Public Works James Macharia.

Permanent Secretary the National Treasury and Ministry of Planning – James Muia, Professor Bitange Ndemo – Chairman Distributed Ledger Systems, Chief Executive Capital Markets Authority – Paul Muthaura, CEO Konza Tochnopolis Development Authority – John Tanui, James Mworia – Group CEO Centum Investment Company are also expected to attend the event.

The smart city  event brings together leaders of most innovative cities, companies and organisations to share ideas and drive urban transformation.
