These are the best restaurants in Nairobi Kenya.

Boho Eatery

Boho Eatery restaurant, located about 40 minutes outside the Nairobi city, in a leafy suburb, this converted home — complete with domestic furnishings and a large garden and pool — is one of Nairobi’s most ambitious vegan restaurants. The best seat in the house is on the patio, where two sets of large swing chairs with pillows hang near picnic tables and an indoor-outdoor bar. The menu is large and offers a wide variety of fresh, light, Instagram-ready dishes

Hashmi BBQ

This family-run Indian BBQ joint is located within Nairobi’s ever-popular mall, Nakumatt Ukay. Hashmi’s boasts a divine take on Indian BBQ with must-try dishes including the chooza chicken with sauce, the fish tikka eaten with fiery poussin chips, and the khima chapatti served with a generous helping of garden salad. The food is deliciously spicy and not recommended for the fainthearted. With simple interiors and affordable dishes, it’s no surprise that Hashmi’s is always heaving. Expect queues during weekends.

La Cantina

The Italian chef behind Nairobi’s Mediterraneo restaurants, known simply as “Chef Dario,” has branched out to open La Cantina. The restaurant’s wooden tables and chairs, dark red cushions, and red-checkered napkins are reminiscent of a small family-run restaurant in the south of Italy, and the menu of handmade pizzas and pastas completes the vibe. Be advised: Save room for the tiramisu.

Tamarind

Located in picturesque Karen, home to the sought-after Kitengela glass-blowers and local wildlife park, Tamarind cooks up the best in Kenyan seafood. The menu is continental and offers an extensive selection of seafood and meat dishes. Local favorites include deep-fried crab claws and garlic jumbo prawns. The elegant and serene space is inviting and perfect for sampling a cold glass of a South Africansauvignon blanc. Don’t be put off if you’re not a fan of seafood, Tamarind’s vegetarian and meat selection are widely recognized as being equally exceptional.

Misono

Misono is Nairobi’s choice of all things Japanese: sushi, sashimi and local favorite teppenyaki. Situated in the bustling heart of Ngong, this family-run gem oozes a sophisticated and indulgent dining experience. The downstairs is equipped with three teppenyaki tables, while the upstairs à la carte seating is elegant and refined. Try the local lobster from Lake Naivasha that features on the six-course teppenyakimenu or the dynamite and California rolls to order.Misono, Ground Floor, The Green House, Ngong Rd, Nairobi, Kenya,

Mambo Italia

This stunning Italian restaurant makes its own gelato. It is situated within Lavington Curve Mall and furnished with colorful chairs, wooden tables and open-plan kitchen. The restaurant re-invents dishes as per the Swahili cuisine and brings Italian classics to Kenya. You could consider trying Swahili beach pizza served with coconut curry at Mambo Italia. If you are a dessert addict the restaurant has a fresh mint gelato and refreshing chocolate for you.

The Diamond Plaza food court

Located at the more Asian side of town called Parklands, The Diamond Plaza food court is your best bet for a taste of coastal and Indian cuisine. You’ll get mobbed by menus from all the food stalls once you get seated but look past that annoyance and pick out the Swahili or Indian dishes that you’d like to try. They are amazing! Try the chicken biryani and also make sure you have the fresh juice from the juice parlour there. They have amazing options.

Three Dee Restaurant

If you are looking for a place with awesome Kenyan traditional food then look no further. This is the perfect place to be. However it has inadequate parking, so take a cab when visiting 3D. I strongly recommend you try this restaurant if you want to enjoy western Kenya traditional dishes. Its located in Kilimani.

Sierra Brasserie – Yaya Center

The restaurant is on top of the roof. They offer a good selection of meals from their aged beef burgers and steak to seafood and also vegetarian options, not to mention their desserts. These guys know what they are doing. On top of that they brew their own beer and it’s splendid! If you want a quiet dinner you can sit inside and they also have an outside area where you can smoke.
